Christine Gagnon

Owner of a Ph.D. in law, Me Christine Gagnon performs a specialized notary practice in divided and undivided co-ownership and acts as an attesting notary as well as a consultant in Quebec city and Montreal. She is an associate in the Côté, Taschereau, Samson, Demers law firm in Quebec city and a notary advisor to the Grenier, Gagnon law firm in Montreal.

Me Gagnon is an associate professor ay the University of Montreal Law School and is a research associate for the Chaire du notariat (U. de M.). She teaches co-ownership law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal. She also regularly gives lectures, especially at the Chambre des notaires du Québec and at the Quebec Bar.

She wrote many articles about co-ownership and property law and she is the author of the first book published in Quebec on the subject, La copropriété divise (Éditions Yvon Blais, second edition in 2007). She is co-author with Me Yves Papineau of the Guide de procédure et de fonctionnement des assemblées de copropriétaires, published in 2008.

Me Christine Gagnon is a member of the Chambre nationale des experts en copropriété (Paris). She also is the president of the Comité de Formation continue de la Chambre des notaires du Québec and member of the Comité scientifique de la Chaire du notariat at the University of Montreal.

In 2007, Me Gagnon presided the Chambre des notaires du Québec advisory commission on real estate law. In 2008, she was granted the medal of merit of the Quebec Interprofessional Council

Me Gagnon presides the Groupe de travail sur la copropriété instigated by the Chambre des Notaires du Québec in cooperation with the Justice department.
